What is Batching?
Batching lets you group multiple deliveries into an optimized route that’s assigned to a dedicated courier. The courier completes the entire run from start to finish, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
Key Benefits
-
Optimized routes reduce congestion at your store or warehouse.
-
All deliveries on the route are handled by one courier.
-
Pricing is based on optimized route time and distance (using historical traffic patterns), not the courier’s actual drive time.
-
Customers receive delivery notifications as soon as batching is scheduled.
How It Works
-
You can batch deliveries once they’ve been imported into your portal and appear under Drafts.
-
Deliveries must share the same pickup location and address to be included in the same batch.
-
Batch settings ensure:
-
Routes are completed within 4 hours.
-
A maximum number of packages per route (e.g., 8).
-
Staggered pickup options are available for high-volume routes to prevent courier congestion.
-
Editing & Flexibility
-
When deliveries are batched, only certain fields remain editable.
-
You can unbatch a route at any time if changes are needed (e.g., updating an address or adding another package).
-
Shipping labels will update automatically if you unbatch and re-batch.
