You can set default pickup instructions and delivery requirements for each location in the Merchant Portal. These defaults help streamline your workflow by automatically applying them to every new delivery created from that location.
Setting Default Instructions
-
In the Merchant Portal, click Locations from the menu.
-
Select the location you want to update.
-
Scroll down to the following sections:
Default Pickup Instructions
Let couriers know exactly where to go. For example, if pickups happen at a back door instead of your storefront, include that here so couriers can find the right spot safely.
Default Delivery Instructions
Add any instructions you want couriers to follow at drop-off. Example: “Ring the doorbell.”
Setting Default Delivery Requirements
You can enable these optional delivery requirements for each location:
-
Contains Alcoholic Products
If enabled, all new deliveries will require:
-
ID check and handoff to someone of legal age.
-
PIN Verification at drop-off.
If no eligible recipient is available or the PIN can't be provided, the delivery will be returned. Return fees apply.
-
Delivery PIN Verification
Requires the courier to collect a PIN from someone at the drop-off location.
If no one is available or the correct PIN isn’t provided, the delivery will be returned. Return fees apply.
Courier-Specific Requirements
You can also set requirements that filter which couriers are eligible for deliveries:
-
Can Deliver Perishables
Marks the delivery as containing perishable items.
-
Can Deliver Alcohol
Limits deliveries to couriers certified to handle alcohol.
Note: This setting alone does not require age verification or PIN. If your items include even small amounts of alcohol, we still recommend enabling this.
Enabling Contains Alcoholic Products will automatically enable Can Deliver Alcohol.
Setting these defaults helps you process deliveries faster and ensures couriers get the right information every time.
