Deliveries containing alcohol or prescription medication require extra care and compliance to ensure they are received safely and legally. These deliveries always require a PIN and may also require a signature. Follow the procedures below closely for each type.
Prescription Medication Deliveries
Prescription medications are always PIN-only deliveries and must be handed directly to the customer.
- (If Required) Collect Signature
- If your app requests a signature:
- Have the customer sign on your phone.
- Ask for and enter their first name.
- If your app requests a signature:
- Hand Off the Medication
- The delivery must be made in person to the customer.
- Do NOT leave medication unattended, even in secure areas.
Alcohol & Tobacco Deliveries
Alcohol deliveries are regulated and must be handled with strict adherence to protocol.
Alcohol & Tobacco Deliveries are always PIN-only deliveries and must be handed directly to the customer.
- (If Required) Collect Signature
- If your app requests a signature:
- Have the customer sign on your phone.
- Ask for and enter their first name.
- If your app requests a signature:
- Check Valid Photo ID
- Ask the customer for government-issued photo identification.
- Confirm the customer is of legal drinking age in your province.
- If the ID is not valid or the customer is underage:
- Do NOT complete the delivery.
- Contact support immediately through your app.
- The name on the ID matches the name on the order.
- Hand Off the Package
- Once all checks are complete, hand the package to the customer.
If You’re Unable to Complete the Delivery -
- The customer is unavailable
- You cannot verify the PIN
- You cannot collect a required signature
- The ID is invalid or missing (for alcohol)
Do NOT leave the package - Immediately contact Support via the app for next steps.
