Batching is the process of grouping multiple deliveries into a single optimized route which is assigned to a dedicated courier. The courier is responsible for completing the full route from pickup through to final delivery, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
Key Benefits:
Route optimization: Deliveries are sequenced using optimized routing based on historical traffic data
Operational Efficiency: One courier handles the full batch from start to finish.
Predictable Pricing: Costs are calculated based on optimized route time and distance, not actual drive time.
Customer Visibility: Delivery notifications are triggered as soon as batching is scheduled.
Batching Requirements
- All deliveries must be imported into the portal and visible under Drafts.
- Deliveries must share the same pickup location.
- Deliveries must have the same destination address (if applicable to batching rules).
Batch Configuration Settings
Batch routes are automatically set to align with the following guidelines:
- Each batch is designed to be completed within a maximum of 4 hours.
- A set limit is applied to the number of packages per route (e.g., up to 7).
- Staggered pickup option is available for high-volume batches to help manage pickup flow and reduce congestion at the origin location.
